Bilateral Funds Programme

The Bilateral Funds Programme is targeted towards small projects and developed in close collaboration with NGO's and Governmental Bodies. These projects are assessed through a process which takes into consideration the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Departmental Strategic Objectives.

Purpose

To enhance the bilateral relationship with hosts governments and support the British Government's foreign policy.

Main Programme Objectives

  • Make an important contribution to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's priorities;
  • Support the Mauritian Government and Civil Society in an area that strengthens the bilateral relationship with the UK.
These can be achieved by funding small projects or sponsored visits to the UK.

Recent partners have included such diverse organisations as the Chagossian Refugee Group, Chagossian Social Committee, Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, International Organisation for Migration and the Forensic Science Laboratory.
